Thing 18 – Final Blog

I have enjoyed exploring the 19 Things. I have been introduced to a number of Things that I had not heard of before – others I had heard of, but knew very little about. I has been a good introduction to these. My attitude towards the 19Things has always been positive. As someone who is always keen to learn new things, this has been an interesting journey, which has been worthwhile. I know I need to spend more time on some of the Things to become more familiar with them.  I think Wordle was a nice gentle introduction, QR codes – another simple task. I have always been a bit reluctant to blog, but now feel ok about adding posts. I particularly liked the Protopage Thing, and the Creative Commons Thing will be useful in the future, I think. I haven’t really got to grips with the CiteULike Thing as it was completed in rather a rush – much more time needed on this one!

Delighted to have reached the end, and pleased that I found it not too challenging.

Thing 17 CiteULike

I have had a quick go with this one – seems a very useful tool. I will have to spend more time with this to fully explore its features. We are sometimes asked about reference managers – so I know I should become more familiar with CiteULike and other Reference Manager Software.

Reflection

I have really enjoyed looking at the 19 Things so far. As someone with little/no experience of the Things we have looked at, I have learnt lots. I am sure I would not have known about many of the Things if this programme had not happened. I am keen to keep up with the Things each week, and from initially being rather apprehensive and unsure whether I would find it easy to complete some of the Things, I now feel confident and interested in see what Thing is coming next.

I have found the instructions provided each time generally straightforward and easy to follow.
